Legacy Picsi.Ai Face Swap Discord (InsightFaceSwap) Bot - Getting Started and Basics #

Step 1: Inviting the Legacy Picsi.Ai Face Swap Discord (InsightFaceSwap) to Your Server #

To embark on your face-swapping adventure on Discord, the first step is inviting the Legacy Picsi.Ai Face Swap Discord (InsightFaceSwap) Bot to your (Private) Discord server:

  1. Setting Up: Create your own Discord server if you haven't already.

Step 2: Registering and Saving Your Source Face Photos #

Create a reusable library of source faces to instantly apply to target images without re-uploading.

How Source Face Storage Works (Privacy First) #

Picsi.Ai ensures privacy by design. When you use /saveid, we do not store your image file.

  • The Process: We convert your photo into a mathematical "face-print" (facial signature) and link it to your chosen ID name.
  • The Result: The original image is discarded immediately. Your ID names are shortcuts to this data, ensuring your actual photos never reside on our servers.

1. Photo Preparation (Critical) #

Quality impacts realism. Follow these rules:

  • Lighting: Bright, even, front-facing light. No harsh shadows or backlighting.
  • Angle: Front-facing only. No side profiles or extreme angles. Tip: Slightly elevate your chin to capture structure.
  • Features: Remove glasses and pull back bangs/hair.
  • Quality: High-resolution, unedited photos only. No filters or heavy makeup.

2. Registering with /saveid #

Command: /saveid [name]

  1. Type /saveid followed by a space.
  2. Name your ID: Max 10 characters, letters and numbers only (no symbols/spaces/underscores). Use descriptive names (e.g., johnsmile, sarah1).
  3. Attach Photo: Upload your prepared photo in the Discord attachment menu that pops up after you type /saveid
  4. Submit: Press Enter. The bot will reply with a confirmation message.

Visual Confirmation (Updated Nov 13, 2024) #

Since November 13, 2024, the bot includes the saved photo in the confirmation reply.

  • Searchable Log: This creates a visual record in your Discord chat history on your private server where you did the /saveid
  • Reliability: Images are stored by Discord, not Picsi.Ai. Viewing them later depends on Discord’s data retention (links may break over time/years).

Finding Saved Faces #

  • To view saved source face names: Type /listid to see a text list of all saved source face names.
  • To view photos: Search your Discord chat history using Discord's built in search function where you originally performed the /saveidfor the ID name (e.g., "mysaveface").
    • Post-Nov 13 saves: Will show the confirmation image (if Discord retains the link).
    • Pre-Nov 13 saves: No visual confirmation exists

Registration Limits #

  • Free Members: Can save up to 20 source faces.
  • Paid Members: Can save up to 60 source faces

Important: Cross-Platform Constraints #

The Discord Bot and Modern Apps (Studio, iOS, macOS) do NOT sync source faces.

  • Why: Different architectures. The Bot uses cloud face-prints; Apps store photos locally on your device for privacy.
  • What Syncs: Subscriptions, Credits, and Premium Features.
  • Action Required: You must re-upload source photos locally when using the Apps/Web Studio.

To view a video tutorial on how to do this, please click here.

Step 3: Face Swapping #

Apply your saved source faces to target images using three flexible methods.

Target Media Requirements #

What You Can Upload:

  • Images, GIFs, or videos containing at least one human-like face
  • AI-generated (MidJourney, DALL-E) or real photos

Media Type Restrictions:

  • Free Members: Static images only (JPG, PNG, WEBP).
  • Paid Members: Images, GIFs, and videos.

How to Upload: Click the '+' button in Discord or drag and drop your target file into the chat.

Choose the method that fits your workflow: #

Method 1: Apps Menu (Fastest) #

Best for swapping the same source face onto multiple targets.

Step 1: Set Active Source Face

  • The Apps menu uses your currently "active" saved source face.
  • By default, this is the most recent source face you saved using /saveid.
  • To switch to a different saved source face: Type /setid yourfacename (e.g., /setid john) and press Enter. The bot confirms the change.

Step 2: Apply Swap

  • Desktop: Right-click the target image → hover over Apps → select INSwapper.
  • Mobile: Long-press (tap and hold) the target image → tap Apps → select INSwapper.

Result: The bot swaps your active source face onto the target and posts the result in your server.

Why Use This: Lightning-fast once your active face is set. Perfect for batch processing multiple targets with the same source face.

Method 2: /swapid (Direct Control) #

Specify which saved source face to use for each swap without changing your active face.

Command: /swapid [facename]

Step-by-Step:

  1. Type /swapid + space + your saved source face name (e.g., /swapid john).
  2. Press space again. Discord displays the file attachment mini-modal.
  3. Attach your target media:
    • Free Members: Static images only
    • Paid Members: Images, GIFs, or videos
  4. Press Enter to submit.

Result: The bot swaps the specified source face onto your target and posts the result in your server.

Why Use This: Switch between different saved source faces rapidly without resetting your active face. One command does everything.

Method 3: /picsi (All-in-One) #

✨ Effortless Face Swapping at Your Fingertips!

Attach both source and target in one streamlined command. No need to pre-save source faces with /saveid.

Command: /picsi

Step-by-Step:

  1. Type /picsi and press Enter. A form appears with three fields.
  2. Source Image Field: Click and attach your source face photo (the face you want to apply).
  3. Target Image/GIF/Video Field: Click and attach your target media:
    • Free Members: Static images only
    • Paid Members: Images, GIFs, or videos
  4. Options Field (Optional): Click to add advanced parameters:
    • -f (Face Texturizer)
    • -m (Retain Target Mouth)
    • -e (Expressionify)
    • --shape (Shapify)
    • And more (see Advanced Features section)
  5. Click Submit.

Result: The bot processes both files together and posts the face-swapped result in your server.

Why Use This:

  • No pre-saving required: Attach any source photo on the fly, even if you haven't saved it with /saveid
  • One command, complete control: Source, target, and parameters all in one place
  • Perfect for one-off swaps: Great for testing new source faces you don't need to save permanently

Pro Tip: If you're reusing the same source face repeatedly, save it with /saveid first and use Methods 1 or 2 instead. This saves you from re-uploading the source face each time.

Free vs. Paid Member Behavior #

Free Members:

  • Media Types: Static images only. GIF and video face swapping requires a paid membership.
  • Multi-Face Images: When the target image contains multiple faces, the bot automatically swaps only the largest face detected. You cannot manually choose which face to swap. To pick which face is swapped, or to swap multiple faces, consider becoming a paid member which unlocks this powerful ability.

Paid Members (Basic, Pro, Ultra):

  • Media Types: Static images, GIFs, and videos.
  • Multi-Face Control: Full control over which faces to swap in multi-face images (up to 4 faces). GIFs and Videos will only face swap the single largest face in the GIF or Video. Please visit Picsi.Ai Face Swap Studio to face swap multiple faces in a target video (or to choose which face to swap).
  • Can face swap up to 4 faces in a target image or pick which faces get face swapped while skipping others using comma-separated names with /setid (e.g., /setid john,sarah,_,mike where _ skips the third face).
  • See Swapping or Skipping Multiple Faces for detailed multi-face instructions.
